Biomass project in belgium
A&U Energie
A&U Energie is a biomass power plant in Wielsbeke that has been generating green energy and green heat since 2020 on the basis of non-recyclable wasted wood.
By processing non-recyclable wasted wood, we are not just solving a waste management problem, we are also generating green power and heat in a sustainable way. As the final link in the lifecycle of non-recyclable wood waste, biomass serves as a great example of the circular economy.
Together with Unilin, Aspiravi has built two power plants that convert non-recyclable wasted wood into green electricity and heat. That way, we’re closing the circle in Wielsbeke and Oostrozebeke by making sure that this resource for the production of renewable energy doesn’t go to waste. The green electricity and heat we produce is supplied to businesses in the area and the mains grid.
